Representatives from SH1FT Fitness this week travelled to Bahrain to participate in the Youth City 2030 initiative, aimed to educate and inspire Bahraini youth in key economic growth areas.

Youth City 2030 is an annual event organized by Bahrain’s Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS). The event focuses on key growth areas for Bahraini youth, aiming to promote creative thinking among them and encourage talent in areas such as leadership, media, information technology, arts, science and sports.

SH1FT was asked to participate in Youth City, 2018 due to the company’s focus not only on health and fitness, but also their digital first approach to business. As a recent start-up in the digital fitness space, SH1FT is training and certifying groups of Bahrainis in the SH1FT group fitness format, whilst also providing guidance and advice on the skills individuals will need to future proof themselves in the digital age.

“What really stood out about SH1FT is their digital first approach to business and their focus on making group fitness accessible to everyone in the community. Fitness and digital innovation are two big focuses of the Youth City initiative and SH1FT is a great example of a company who are leading the way in digital innovation in the fitness space” said Mahmood Abdulsamad, Owner of REPs Fitness Studio who will be running the SH1FT Courses.

“We are thrilled to be involved in Youth City. When we launched SH1FT, our goal was to create a digital platform that broke down barriers to entry – anyone can participate in SH1FT no matter their fitness level, or their geographical location. We can’t wait to see these new SH1FT Coaches grow SH1FT in their communities” said Will Brereton, Founder of SH1FT.

SH1FT is running a two-day workshop to Bahraini Youth on Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd July, 2018.  Once qualified, the goal is for each trainee to use their qualification to increase their own individual credentials but also to take their learnings and give back to their communities.
